Best squirrel-attack story EVER.

I read this a while back.  It has been online for a few years now, but it seems a worthwhile addition to my LiveJournal squirrel sub-theme.

Thanks for posting this, ec! My husband got a motorcycle for Christmas, and I'm quite sure he's not aware of the squirrel-related dangers of riding...

At the very least, make sure he has a squirrel-proof helmet. You do NOT want one of those bad boys between you and your visor.

Squirrel Cop

So that car insurance commercial with the high-fiving squirrels is more fact than fiction, eh? This reminded me of the Squirrel Cop story on This American Life (http://www.thislife.org/Search.aspx?searchFor=squirrel%20cop -- audio only as I haven't found a transcript online). The story has got to be one of the most memorable ever told on TAL. A paint-by-numbers drawing was based on the story and (at least here) used as one of the premiums you could get during a public radio fund drive when you made a donation to sponsor the show. You've found a rich sub-theme for this LJ, Elaine. I'm curious to see what else you uncover.
