"When I am old I will wear purple...

...with a red hat."

And possibly matching stillettos.

Nah. I'm thinking tee shirts.  Irrascible old lady tee shirts.  These are a few contenders:

What if there were no rhetorical questions?

Suedo-intellectual

And quite possibly my favorite:  Eshew obfuscation

Just saying.

That last one would also make an awesome bumper sticker.

It would!

My favorite bumper sticker to date, for sheer audacity, was "Sorry I haven't been to church recently, but I've been busy practicing witchcraft and becoming a lesbian."

Not exactly pithy, and certainly not something just anyone would care to use--not even ironically--but it does linger in memory.

You don't want one for the former teacher in you?

"Eschewing gum" ?

Me, I'm wanting the "comma sutra" t-shirt for Gen Con...

"Eschewing gum" goes without saying for me. I was raised to consider it a public no-no, on the same level of rudeness as audible yawning and public ear-wax mining.

In fact, if I could change one thing about major league baseball, it would be to fine players, coaches and managers for chewing ANYTHING during a game, either on the field or in the dugouts. Spitting would be an automatic four-game suspension.

Stan! posted about the "comma sutra" shirt a little while back. Very cute--a good GenCon wardrobe choice. Just make sure The Lovely Sarah is close at hand, thus to discourage overtures from nubile chain-mail-clad booth babes who would otherwise snuggle up and coo, "Number 6 is my specially...."

I have a sign on my office wall:

"The best Macintosh repair advice: sudo rm -Rf /*"

Alas, so far only two people have ever gotten the joke.

...I love you, ec.

I can see the pair of matching stilettos though. The daggers, not the heels. Heh.

Now you're talking. That's MUCH more irascible than a pair of red fuck-me pumps. Not to mention, easier on the feet. Too bad about the puncture wounds, though . . .

I liked my Grandmothers wardrobe, t-shirts and sweatshirts, depending on the season, with large glittery lions, or tigers, or horses. Pretty sweet I must say. Plus it will go along with my inescapable "Cat Lady" status.
